Well first off, I'd like to thank Mark for pointing me in the direction of this lovely site, and group....I hope to become a productive member...
My name is Keelan Glenn...
Growing up, my Father was a Air Force Vietnam Veteran, and living in Sacramento right next to MacLellan I knew every plane in the sky by the time I was six. Oddly enough I developed an attraction to models of the planes I was so familiar with, and became obsessed with building them. In Junior High I discovered RPG's (the paper kind, this was 1987 after all)...this progressed into High School. My school mates, and I, graduated to using miniatures as representations in our expanding game worlds...and we stumbled on a game called "Space Hulk". We loved it, and barged into 40K. Harlequins were my first army (back when you could get the whole kit in one box...and the old RT "Compendium" rules), but after seeing all the fun my pal was having with his Orks, I sold off my 'Quins, and started my Snakebite. I stuck with them until "Second Edition", and the first Codexes rolled out. Between the Goffs becoming "Da Orks", the loss of my Boarboys, and my pals losing interest...I quit the game for fifteen years...
In 2008...one of my pals asked if I'd be interested in playing again, I thought "why not?"..and to my surprise, I still had all my old stuff! Five years later (and a few more guys in our group), my Orks are well over 10K in points, I have a full Necron second army, and various other systems. Yes, it's a full blown addiction...
Present day...
I've been playing with my mates for these last few years (beer n' pretzels, really), all the while shopping at GEG (I firmly believe in supporting ones local shop), but never tapping into the community. When the "Twin Linked Tourney" came up in April, I convinced one of my pals to come out from San Jose to give it a go. We had a blast! We met a load of great folks (like Alex/Matt in our first game), and it really opened my eyes to the incredible community we have in Sacramento...and I wanted to get more involved (if not to score a few more games... ) So yeah, that's what brings me here...
Beyond all that, I'm a pretty decent painter (all my scholastic career was Art training), I'm a Chef (which severely puts demands on my time, as I run a Country Club), and as mentioned before I've got about 10-12K in Orks, I lost count of my Necrons (they're my current fav, and attention sink), a full PoM army, two Malifaux crews (Nicodem, and Dreamer), and I'm really looking hard at Dust...as I love big "gun toting" robots..
Apologies for the long winded intro...but yeah, that's me in a "Dyson Sphere". Looking forward to meeting/gaming/talking/improving my game/sharing painting tips with you all in the near future!
