Hello to all. For those that don't know me, I'm Jason- the oldest of the Jiru brothers.
I've been playing 40K for about 11 years now. I first heard about 40K when I was working for Papa Johns delivering pizzas. I took an order to house, where a group of guys were playing in their garage. I couldn't help but stick around for a bit and watch. I asked a lot of questions, and I soon decided that I would start collecting/playing. That was the beginning. At that time, I did not know about Great Escape, but I did know about Comics and Collectables on Fruitridge. I was going to City College at the time, and I would pop in there every once and awhile. I picked up the 3rd Ed starter box with Space Marines and Dark Eldar. I can't tell you how many times I read that damn book.
After starting with Space Marines, I wanted to branch out. I moved on to Daemonhunters after reading a lot of the 40K novels. I fell in love with that old army. And yes, that is why my marines look like the Grey Knights of today. Jerks...
The rest is pretty much history. I am currently playing my Marines because it is the only fully painted army I have and the army that I have the most gametime with. My old Grey Knights are awaiting my return, but they will be waiting for awhile. I am currently in the works on an Ork army. I am super excited about too! I am going for an unorthodox Ork theme, lots of conversions, and pushing my painting limits. My goal is to have them on the table by next years CoC circuit.
I can be found at Great Escape on a regular basis. I live right around the corner, and my wife works there. I'm there Monday nights roleplaying with the local Savage Worlds group. Thursdays I wage war with my brother as our weekly practice game. My brother aside, I'm pretty easy to spot. I'll be one of the biggest guys in the shop, look for the Imperial Aquila that I have tattooed on my forearm. I may not look it, but I will always be down to talk strategy or the game in general. Here's to seeing everyone down there
